What is on offer during the weekend?

The theme for this event is “Unlock Your Potential”. Workshops will be both classroom based and practical. Tyne and Wear’s excellent training facility will provide opportunities for road traffic collision training and breathing apparatus sessions, from the basic to the advanced. There will be one to one coaching opportunities during the practical scenarios, for new and potential supervisory managers, as well as the chance to participate in sessions in the Incident Command Suite.  Also on offer will be the ever popular” be a firefighter” for those who want to have a go, along with fitness training sessions, and early morning “boot camp”    Classroom based activities are varied and will include topics such as faith awareness, the value of coaching, transgenderism workshop, an introduction to deaf awareness and British Sign Language, Action Learning Sets and personal protection. The weekend will provide opportunities for valuable networking, and Sunday in particular will bring a chance to take a more holistic view of working life, from ways to put wonder, magic, and humour, in the workplace, to fitness for work and women’s occupational health issues. Anita Pickerden will be giving us insight into the outcomes of her research into work life balance in the Fire Service.
