On 9th February the National Executive Committee, members of Northamptonshire FRS and invited guests gathered to celebrate the contribution of Aidan Phillips to NWFS, and to witness the presentation of his NWFS Gold Award
Aidan was instrumental in the development of NWFS, in the early years the network operated from his home. As part of the National Executive Committee for over 12 years, Aidan worked tirelessly to establish solid foundations and promote the network. Thanks to these efforts, NWFS has grown into a professional organisation, respected across the FRS community, with a great number of women benefitting from the personal support and development opportunities it provides.

Anne Waters of NWFS presented Aidan’s Gold Award, and Dawn Whittaker, Brigade Manager of Northamptonshire FRS congratulated Aidan and added her thanks on behalf of NFRS. It was lovely to see so many friends attend, particularly some of our retired colleagues, David Archer and Bruce Hoad both of NFRS and Doug MacKay ex CFO M&W Wales.
Letters of congratulation were also received from other colleagues regrettably unable to attend, these included Sir Graham Meldrum, Cheryl Rolph, Dany Cotton and Alex Johnson.
Aidan and his wife Amanda thoroughly enjoyed the evening, and Aidan is looking forward to wearing his gold award with pride.
