Who we are

• NWFS is a voluntary, not for profit organisation, established in 1993.
• Incorporated into a Company limited by Guarantee in 2008.
• Individual members, from all roles within the FRS
• Affiliate members, individuals who are supportive of the aims and objectives of NWFS
• Corporate members 
• An elected committee, to direct the business of the organisation
• Two part time employees to carry out the business of the organisation, in particular managing events, communications and general administration.

Objectives 

• to make the FRS a place where men and women can work, and compete, together professionally and harmoniously.
• to provide a comprehensive support network for members
• to encourage the recruitment, retention, deveopment and progression of women within the fire and rescue service
• to provide training and development opportunities specifically targetting women in the FRS
• to challenge FRSs on behalf of members
• to  advise FRS/CLG with the aim of creating positive change 

How is NWFS funded?

• Corporate Affiliate Membership (sliding scale from £250 to £1,000 pa)
• Individual  membership (£10 pa)
• Affiliate membership (£10pa)
• Sponsorship from supportive partners, for example RMBsand FRS suppliers eg Draegar
