Mani Gilbert King Vice Chair

I joined East Sussex Fire and Rescue in Sept 1994. My first station was Preston Circus Brighton. Once I got my CM's bars I was on the move working from stations all over the county. I did a spell in our Appliances and Equipment Department and then I had two years working in the training school and left there to be a WM at the Ridge in Hastings.  I then moved to our HQ's where I did a specialist role at SM level, I moved sideways into fire safety and then picked up a flexi duty SM role looking after Bexhill and Pevensey. Im still at Bexhill but Im currently the Borough Commander setting up our new structure. As well as my Borough responsibilities, I am an active member of our harassment advisors team offering advice to all work colleagues as and when they call. I also get involved in critical incident de-briefs. I believe in being honest, getting the best out of people and taking the time to listen to worries and concerns. I have a fab job and work with a great team both here and on the Network.
